Artist Nguyen Tu Nghiem (20/10/1918 – 15/6/2016)

Biography
He was an exhibition at the L’ Louvre Museum, Paris 1999.
To be painter draw a picture lacquer, oil paint and dough. He is one of the quartet Sáng – Interlock - Nghiem - Sect of Vietnamese art, Also the last one in this quartet. He is the son -in -law of the writer Nguyen Tuan.
Born into a Confucian family, So from a young age, he was taught by his father according to Han Dynasty, Growing up he followed the West. He especially likes painting, so he followed his brother to Hanoi to come to artist Le Pho to learn to draw. Year 1941, He passed the entrance exam to Indochina Fine Arts College, The school has trained outstanding Vietnamese artists. Nguyen Tu Nghiem went from reality to abstract, stereoscopic. He used blocks and patterns from the Dong Son period 2000 Male to reach the peak of his career.
He is famous for traditional lacquer works but not grinding, as well as on the paper, dough. He was inspired by the time of traditional dance, zodiac, and characters in classical literature. When I was a second year student 3, He had the first prize at the Unique Paris Salon Exhibition 1944.

- 1985: International art exhibition in Sophia (Bulgaria), work: Ancient dance I
- 1987: International exhibition tournament in Hanoi, work; Ancient dance II.
- 1990: First prize in the national art exhibition, work: Thanh Giong.
- 1996: The Ho Chi Minh Prize in the first phase of literature and art.
His works are always outstanding, Although he lived as a Taoist.
Picture "Ancient dance" of stained bee on paper, size 50,8 x 33 cm; has been auctioned by Millon (France) price 11.000 euro (about 281 million) year 2022.
