Opening of artist Van Duong Thanh’s exhibition – “Melody of Hanoi” and the opening ceremony of Art Van Duong Thanh Gallery Print
To welcome the celebrations of Hanoi becoming 1000 years, artist Van Duong Thanh is honored to contribute through her exhibition and Art Gallery Van Duong Thanh in C29, 210 Nghi Tam, Ha Noi, on Thursday, Sept. 25th 2010, with 75 artworks of the mediums oil and lacquer of sizes half a meter to three meters..

The opening ceremony was presided by H.E. Ambassador of Poland Roman Iwaszkiewicz together with the presence of 12 foreign ambassadors. The occasion also celebrates the 200th birthday of the Polish musical genius Frederic Chopin; of whose music artist Van Duong Thanh have drawn inspirations. Artist Van Duong Thanh has painted two portraits of Chopin which was shown at the exhibition

Attending the opening ceremony were Vietnamese art lovers and students, 12 ambassadors of Poland, Algeria, Argentina, Belgium, Iran, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Finland, Romania, Turkey, Uzbekistan etc. Also present were the representatives of Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam Art Association, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the CEO of Trung Thanh Company. Also present were members of the media such as VCTV10, Que Huong Magazine, An Ninh Thu Do Newspaper, VOVNEWS, and VietnamNet etc..

H.E. Ambassador of Poland said in his opening speech: “Vietnamese art has an advanced position and artist Van Duong Thanh is its worthy representative. Through her hard work, study and determination of the Vietnamese spirit, she has presented through her 1.600 artworks the beautiful image of her country to the world. Van Duong Thanh is truly an active cultural ambassador for Vietnam. To celebrate Hanoi’s 1.000 year history and this exhibition of friendship have a great meaning to the Diplomat Corps and Vietnamese friends…

I am very moved to listen to the music of the genius composer Frederic Chopin resounds within the glorious art works of Van Duong Thanh in this beautiful studio gallery.

The presence of ambassadors of twelve countries proved that Viet Nam contemporary art, through the art works of Van Duong Thanh, has won the admiration of the international audiences and confirmed its place on the art map of the world.
